Other Ten Percent 4/22/13

Apr 22 2013

You know, I’m just going to stop talking up this secret project. Saying I don’t know how to begin it makes it sound like I haven’t done a TON of work on it but the lack of a clear opening hook is delaying production…that and that I keep delaying working on it. I kinda needed a break this weekend and of the various things I could have slacked off on the secret project that’s making me no money and I’m not sure will ever be shared beyond people who read OTP seemed like the sensible choice.

Patton Oswalt’s brilliant Star Wars: Episode VII pitch has a poster
I know this movie will never happen but I hope either the next Avengers or the next Star Wars movie at least does some offhanded joke about this.

The world that only formerly-blind people can see
Vision, like basically everything else about the human body, is super weird because as it turns out the way you think it works has almost nothing to do with the way it actually works.

Internet Archaeology, Preserving the History of the Internet
The year 3293. Civilization is no more. Humanity’s greatest structures lie in ruins. What were once the greatest works of scholarship this world has ever seen have turned to ash. A curious team of extra-terrestrial explorers happens upon our planet and searches for some record of our existence. At the bottom of a remote canyon they find a  broken machine that contains just enough recoverable information to recreate one last true artifact of humanity’s achievement. A final record of our planet by which we will be remembered. It is the homepage to the motion picture Space Jam starring Michael Jordan.

Pedestrian Silhouette Photomontages by Nacho Ormaechea
Yet another post that has weird resonances with the secret project that will not make sense to you since you guys…why am I taunting you guys with this thing? It’s starting to seem like a hype offensive except I don’t want to build expectations actually.

I don’t know how I missed this but Neil Gaiman wrote a new thing that’s like a book crossed with an ARG.
