Other Ten Percent 10/30/12

Oct 30 2012

You know there was a brief time this afternoon where shit got real enough in New York that I kind of considered dropping OTP content and just talking hurricane but it seems, at least as I write this at around 1am New York time, that the worst is over and everybody I know is relatively safe. It also seems like there’s better than even odds that you guys will 1) have internet access 2) will be kinda bored/looking for something to do as you stay in tomorrow. So I hope you don’t take a collection of random stuff on the internet as me not being concerned about how you’re all doing.
A first look at the Axe Cop cartoon show!
Woah I had totally forgotten that this was a thing that was going to happen and I’m fairly certain I never even knew they were smart enough to get Nick Offerman as the voice of Axe Cop. I’m hoping since this is a year out that this is just preliminary animation because if they can actually get this up to network quality standards I will be watching this each and every week.

Button 2.0, Combo Shirt Button & Headphone Cord Clip
Whenever anybody asks me why I think 3D printing is actually going to change things even though it’s not as efficient as traditional manufacturing I think I’m just going to point them to this from now on. That’s happened to me like twice so far so….I may actually end up doing that.

when you said you’d always be with me, you didn’t say you’d be a total j-wad about it
Turns out we’re being haunted by the equivalent of immortal, flying Redditers and if that doesn’t make Poltergeist MORE terrifying to you then you haven’t spent enough time on the internet.

Photos of Empty Transportation Terminals in New York City Closed In Advance of Hurricane Sandy
So this is not nearly the most terrifying/awesome in the traditional sense of inspiring awe photoset out of New York today but it is the eeriest for me at least.

Philips hue: the ‘world’s smartest’ LED lightbulb that saves you time during Red Alerts
Man I really could have used these for Dance Party at the End of the World. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to really go all out for the last one of those next year.

NBC’s Up All Night gets more episodes, is changing completely (again)
At this point I think I’m going to wait for Up All Night to get canceled because I just want to watch what a bizarrely schizophrenic show it’s going to look like from 10,000 feet.
