Other Ten Percent 8/15/12

Aug 15 2012

Just got back from the once a month wine flight deal at Blackbird and I have to say that it is a FANTASTIC deal if you think you will be in the SF area on the second tuesday of the month like…ever.  I have also just found an extra two links that I think you might enjoy to bring me up to an even 10. Oh right, here are those links by the way.
THREE PANELS OPEN: Juan Santapau
I don’t know if it’s just me stepping back from buying quite so many comics or what but I’ve come to really appreciate the Three Panels Open entries on Warren Ellis’s site. Often they’ve got more depth and story to them than 22 page issues of comics I used to buy.

Fran Kranz will star in the directorial debut of Gillian Greene-Raimi, Murder of a Cat
I hope Fran Kranz is happy to know that he’s got a BoingBoing post that’s basically just dedicated to telling him how great he is for a few hundred words.

Yo-yoing in space
Yo-yoing in space is basically what every 7 year old wishes they could do and i’m happy to see that somebody is living the dream at least.

The invention of interactive science education
It’s weird that I’m simultaneously shocked that interactive science education is as young as it is but also sort of shocked that it ever existed before I stepped foot into the Atlanta Exploratorium equivalent (I want to say it was named Sci-Trek?) it’s one of those histories I’d never really considered before.

In the future, we will shout at machines (even more than we do today)
Probably the most succinct and accurate prediction of the future since Bruce Sterlings “old people in big cities afraid of the sky.”
